Today is my 24th birthday. My older brother, Colt, said he had designed a special tattoo for me. He is an amazing artist and co-owner of Bayou Ink, so I know it's going to be fantastic. My cousin, Dakota, walked into the living room snapping me out of my thoughts.
“Happy Birthday Bai's! I can't believe it's September 3rd already. Damn, it feels like the 4th of July was yesterday.” Dakota laughs.
“Yep girly, and two weeks from today you will be the big 2-4!” I grin, playfully hitting her shoulder. “Well, we better get going. Colt said it may take a while.”
“Then we better hurry up because after that we're going out!” She says pulling me out the door and we head to Bayou Ink. My brother Colt owns the shop with his best friend and the guy Dakota is dying to hook up with, Brocks. Brocks is like a brother to me.
As we pull up thunder starts rolling. “Fuck man! I hope it passes on through before we are done here.” Dakota says, matter a fact.
“Yeah,” I sigh, turning to look at her. ”Wait, why do you have that Idiotic grin on your face, Da? What aren't y'all telling me?”
“Ok, if you must know nosey ass, Brocks is giving me a tattoo tonight for my early birthday present!” Dakota and I both already have more tattoos then we can count. I have both sleeves all the way up my arms, my whole back, lower stomach, one side of my ribs both thighs, and down my legs onto my feet. Dakota has one full sleeve, one half across her chest, her neck, hip, and her lower back. Needless to say, we love our ink.
“Let’s do this!” I shout to the sky as so as we walk in. The moment I step through the door, I feel tingles go up my spine. As I look up, my eyes lock on a cowboy covered in tattoos. Colton's big mouth coming from behind me pulls me out of my trance.
“Happy Birthday, baby girl!” Colt laughs as he scoops me up and twirls me around. As soon as he sets me down, Brocks grabs me up in a big bear hug. “Happy Birthday little miss.” As he is putting me down, I feel my spine tingle again. I chance a look back up at that hot as hell tattooed cowboy. He is such a vision with dark brown hair, blue sapphire eyes, and olive sun kissed skin on a body like a Greek god. His lips turn up into the sexist smile I have ever seen.
I panic inside as I realize Colt is pulling me over to him. “Bailey, this is our new tattoo artist, Dallas. Dallas, my little sister, Bailey.” Dallas tips his hat then takes my hand to kiss, like a true Southern gentleman. When his lips meet my hand, I feel an electric charge shoot through me and my panties go damp.
“Pleasure to meet you Ms. Bailey, and Happy Birthday.” I love the way my name slips off his lips with the sexiest southern drawl I have ever heard. I want him bad. Before I can reply, Colt cuts in, “Dallas, why don’t you sit with us while I tattoo Bailey’s birthday surprise on her? Maybe that way she won’t bug the shit out of me asking what it is. She tries to ruin the surprise every time.” Dallas eyes me with those deep pools before he lets out a chuckle. “You are going to let your brother tattoo you without even knowing what it is? That is awfully trusting.” I just smirk right back at him, “Yep, I don't know where he is putting it either. Colt knows me better than I know myself.”
Colt leaves us to get his booth set up. I grin at Dallas “Well, at least that is what he thinks. There's a part of me no one knows about.” Dallas lets out a low growl as he leans in to whisper “I'd like to get to know every single side of you.” Before I can cool my blood enough to answer, Colt is calling us over.
“So, where are you doing your damage today?” Colt clutches his ribs right under his heart and mocks pain, like my words wound him. “Right here.” He jokes back. “Ready?”
I hesitate before take my tank top off, standing there in just my bra and yoga pants in front of this fucking Greek God of a tattooed cowboy. Breaking my nerves, I hear Brocks start his tattoo gun. “Dakota! Have you seen what you are getting yet?” I holler over to her.
“The other half of my one sleeve!” Dakota squeals. “What about you?” Before I can answer Colt yells out “Hell no, and she won’t know until it is done!” Then he turns to me with a wicked grin, “Ok baby girl, lay back so we can get started. It is going to take about two and a half hours for this one on account of all the detail work.
I lay back and raise my left arm above my head as Colt starts applying the stencil, which wraps from my ribs around to my left side.
Dallas sits on a stool on my right side. I can’t help but stare up at him and my smile reflects the massive smile he is sporting. “Colt that is one kick ass tattoo.” Colt cuts him off before he can say another word, “Yeah, I know. Trust me, she's going to love it. My little sister is a pretty kick ass chick. You won’t ever find another like her. She is a one of a kind.” I hear his tattoo gun start up and settle in for a long afternoon.
We make small talk as the time passes and he holds my hand when Colt is hitting the tender parts. I swear the desire between the two of us is blinding me because one second I'm joking with everyone and the next I am flirting hard with Dallas. All of a sudden, I hear my big brother say “Ok baby girl, all done. Go take a look.” Dallas extends his hand to help me out of the chair then the three of us walk over to the stand-up mirror together. All I can do is smile and whisper “I love it.” It is so beautiful, so perfect, and perfectly me. I hear Colt talking to Dallas, “I told you she would love it.” My new tattoo is two pistols with wings on each side of it and below there is a quote that means the word to me “Life is a Beautiful Struggle”. Dakota shows up beside me, grabs my arm and starts jumping up and down excitedly.
“That is the most kick ass tattoo! It is so you Bai’s! I love how the guns represent the struggles in life and the wings represent the beauty.” She says while checking out my new art
“Yes, it is so poetic. I absolutely love it.” I sigh, smiling at her. I turn and hug Colt before remembering how tender fresh ink is. “Well baby girl, let’s bandage you up and get the hell out of here.”
“What? Are you coming out with us?” I asked
“Well of course, someone has got to keep you girls out of trouble.” Colt says while eyeing Dakota and me. I roll my eyes before looking at Dallas,” Hey Dallas do you want to come too?” I smile hopping hoping my pretend innocence is enough to make him say yes. He gives me that sexy smile. “It would be my pleasure.”
Brocks jumps in, “Good! When you get these two together it can get crazy. We are going to need the help.” Dallas chuckle's, shaking his head.
Dakota and I grab our bags out of the car and head to the back of the shop to change and get all dolled up. Dakota is practically dragging me to the back while she has a big grin plastered across her face. Once we close the doors I look her dead in the eyes, “What the fuck got you all sunshine and sweetness?”
“Bail’s! You won’t believe it! I finally broke Brocks down. We are going to give it a chance!” Dakota tries not to squeal too loudly as she tells me in a hushed voice, well at least as hushed as Dakota gets.
“Huh? Give what a chance?” I ask with a confused look on my face. She just laughs, “Being together a chance. What world have you been in?”
“Oh wow! Of course! That's awesome. I'm so happy for you.” I gush. “I just want a chance to spend one animalistic night with that tattoo’d cowboy out there. Better known as Dallas.”
“Oh girl, with that short jean skirt, leather halter top, matching cow girl boots and hat sitting on top of those long goddess like brown curls that come to your ass, he doesn't have a chance.” Dakota is babbling on as we give ourselves one last look over before we walk out and head to the Dry Hop. When we walk out to the front, I am only looking at Dallas who is standing there with his mouth hanging open. It tells me all I need to know. I will get my chance with this man.

Oh fuck im tired the races went a hell of a lot later then planed well at least i won $10,000 i can use that for stuff my growing sons needs and some for is upcoming first birthday im lost in thought as i pull my bike up into the gators mc mechanic shop where i got to take apart my twin brothers bike and add more customization to the dam thing again i sware Connor has the craziest ideas and im the only one other then himself touch that bike i sigh getting off my bike im the vp of the club connor the president of the gator mc that my dad started but had to step down when he had his heart attack a few years ago he choose us to step up for him we never gave it a second thought with our dad being the only parent we got raising us on his own we practically lived at the shop so we knew the club better then anyone else for me being the only female member from my sixteenth birthday the day connor and i got our first bikes i have had to prove myself more times then i care to count fuck i rub my eyes no sleep is making my thoughts go all over the map shit i didnt call mika to tell him i was going to make it to the gym right then my phone rang its mika hey bro dam girl you sound like crap he says with a chuckle yeah i look like it too i say with a giggle wild night out i herd he says playfully yeah but worth it four races $10,000 in my pocket i say proudly dam girl you kicked ass last night yeah but i wont be to the gym until later i got to work on connors bike first i say why the hell you got to do it why isnt he doing it himself hes initiating some new guy i say with a sigh oh shit i forgot about that cole is a good guy youll like him he says yeah but will i have to prove myself once again to get the respect a vp should get i say a bit annoyed no baby girl hes a good guy we made sure he knew from the start that you are the vp and you are to be respected without a doubt he agreed then wanted to know more about our mighty vp kenzy oh shit i mutter dont worry so dam much we made sure to make it clear that your a tough chick not to be messed with i giggle thanks mika i better get to work ill see you later big bro and i hang up he may not be my big brother by blood but he sure as hell is in every way that matters plus he is one of my best friends i step into my mechanics jumper tieing the arms around my waist leaving my white mid drift t-shirt out like i always do i loose track of time working on connors bike im putting the finishing touches on the bike when i hear my twin brother walk in the shop dam look at you gress monkey after last night i didnt think youd be in before me before i look up i say well bro thats becouse your lazzy ass had to go get some sleep i went check on nate then came here to get your bike done so you would stop bitching about not having time to do it your self so now its done i say playfully not knowing he wasnt alone
when i lift my head up push the hair the came out my poney tail out of my face with my for arm my eyes lock with the deepest brown eyes that had gold specks in them i feel an electric shock when i took his out stretched hand hi kennedy im cole he says smiling nice to meet you cole i say with my hand still being held by cole for some unknown reason i cant understand my hand being held by his feels right connor brakes the spell cole and i was in yeah kenz this is the newest gator and he is also going to be working here in the shop as A mechanic that sounds good to me im going shower then hit the gym ill be back in a few hours before the shop gets busy i say dropping my jumper off as i turn to walk away hey sis where my lil gator hes with dad and annie they are going to bring him here when i get back from the gym cole looks a lost so i turn to explain he is talking about my son Nathan well nate hes the lil gator you will here everyone talk about i say smiling thinking of my son how old is he 5-1/2 months before i could say anything else yeah kennedy is a single mom so you will have to get use to having in the shop connor butts in thats not going to be an issue for me cole says with a smile i smile back well i better get to the gym before my lil one gets here taking a quick shower i walk out in my jeans and t-shirt i strap my gym bag to my bike and take off to hit the gym when i finally walk in i see mika and k-9 sparing in the cage i watch for a bit the go change in to my sports bra and tight yoga pants i head out for my work out mika and k-9 are just getting out the cage worm up baby girl your next in the cage what the fuck mika who you got me set up against tia oh grate that bitch doesnt fight she cat fights k-9 laughs thats why we put you with her maybe she can learn a thing or two fine i say shaking my head as i head over to worm up after going two rounds against this catty bitch i decide not to take it easy any more im going to knock this bitch out just to shut her big moth up it doesnt take me long knock out in the first 30 secants of the third round but as i go to walk out of the cage the bitch came to and pushed me down the stairs of the cage i hit my ribs on the last step i jump to my feet adrilin running i jump up the the stairs mika and k-9 right on my ass as i tackle that bitch you dont want to fight fare well i wont go easy on you anymore bitch i spat at her as we roll around the cage floor i finally get her pined her done and started landing blows every i could when mika pulled me off ok baby girl you proved your point lets get you checked out after that fall you took fuck mika put me down after the doc looks you over fuck that im fine your getting that rib checked well ms gunner you have one broken rib here is a scrip for pain meds you will need them and you have to keep it wrapped do you have anyone who can help you wrap them you cant do it yourself he tells me ill help her mika speaks up behind me go shower then ill show mika how to wrap them i quickly take a shower still full of adrilin after putting on jeans and a mid drift t-shirt ok lets get this over with i got to go meet my son at the shop doc Nelson showed mika how to wrap my ribs ok can i go now i ask yes but take it easy thanks doc i say i get back on my bike and head to the shop when i walk in mika pulled up right behind me running in after me connor turns around with a smiling baby in his arms dad had to drop him off early finally looking up at me dammit kinzy what the hell you where in a fight yep now give me my boy cole turns around oh shit babe are you ok he asks walking over to stand in front of me yeah im fine cant say the same for the bitch that started it i hear connor let me guess she started you finished it i turn to my brother you know it cole gently puts his hand under my chine turning my face to meet his eyes babe how bad are you hurt he ask softly im fine i say how bad he says a lil more forceful then before look i got some browses but im fine i say right then nate started to wiggle in my arms his lil baby foot hitting my rib makeing me gasip hey you ok mika grabs Nate from me come on baby girl lets sit you down he walks me towards my office laying nate in his swing i keep in my office he turns to me now take you pain killer the doc gave you he damands handing me a bottle of sweet tea and the pill but mika i got nate no buts lil miss connor and i will take care of him and you dam well know it fine i say knowing i wont win until i take the fricken pill other then my twin brother mika is the only other guy in the mc that can get away with talking to me like that ok i took it happy i say sticking my tounge out at him making him laugh now come on lil gator lets go so your mommy can rest after mika took nate and walked in the shop i layed my head on my desk I must've started to doze off when I hear a knock on the door and raise my head to see Cole standing in front of my desk hey babe I just wanted to come check in see how you're doing Mika said he gave you were hurting so he told you to rest that him and Connor would take care of Nate for you and you been in here for a little over an hour so I wanted to make sure you didn't need anything as small as gentle giant standing above me know I'm fine thank you I can't believe I fell asleep for so long I really should get up to check on Nate I say in reply no don't worry sweetie your little guy is just fine he's out there with the rest of the guys in the shop having a blast I look up surprised that his words how do you me he's having a blast he's only 5–1/2 months old well he's laughing and cooing at all the different bikes down there sitting on the different bikes taken his picture and he's loving it you look so happy he says well that's my boy he's a happy baby and he loves being in the shop especially around the motorbikes I reply with a smile yeah I think he takes after his mom up at that whole chuckles yeah you couldn't tear me away from this place if you tried it's in my blood and my bones part of who I am but I really do need to check on him he's probably going to want to bottle thing I say trying to get out but one thing in pain what the fuck kind of fight did you get into he says as I clutched my side oh I just have a bruised rib and I bumped it on the arm of my chair I'm fine I promise I say trying to hide The pain that I'm in well you are one tough chick I'll give you that from Mike his description he had to pull you off that girl yeah well I give as good as I get a reply with a chuckle he says oh really and all things I bet I smile hah wouldn't you like to know oh I'll find out trust me he says with a devilish smile and I suggested tone oh you think I say walking past him that I turn over my shoulder and say give me the best you got making him chocolate and more of baby want to get what I got you eggs I don't want not malice oh Mr. confident you don't really know you you trying to play with do you know babe I'm going to get to know you real good he said with a chuckle as we walk into the shop and I go in search of my little boy over the next 3–1/2 months cool and I pick with each other back and forth in a playful and teasing manner the sexual tension between us is growing so thick you can taste it and our friendship is growing pretty quickly he packed then have lunch with me at least three times a week sometimes more when we stay late for work he make sure he stays at the shop until I leave so I won't be left alone and he is amazing with Nate when he doesn't have anything to do in the shop and I have Nate with me he'll come and get him and play with him and feed him and Nate is really loving the attention and surprisingly getting attached and bonding with Cole I actually think that my feelings for him are starting to change as I would like things to become more than just friends but I don't know if I can take that step I have Nate to look after and his best interest comes first and whoever I end up being with has to know that has to except that and has to live with that and I just don't know if I'll ever find a man that will understand that so I will keep our friendship platonic and let things see where they go naturally but I won't let my expectations get up or set my hopes up for me to be crushed I just expect to have a friend nothing more

Nate you be a good boy for pops today mommy will be home my sweet boy after kissing nate bye for the day and thanking my dad for watching him again. I cannot believe I am sitting in the bathroom stall at work on my lunch break staring down at a positive pregnancy test how did this happen we can always use protection I cannot bring a baby into this world knowing that he will beat the shit out of the child the way he does me on a regular basis I have to get out I have to find a way to get outside my baby will be safe what am I going to do I have no family I have one friend and nowhere to go no one I ideas on what I should do I hear a gentle knock on the stall door as my best friend Nora calls to me JoJo are you okay in there I open the stall the new Kindle fire HDX 8.9 inches off the shelf and put it in my bag and she brings up a gift card for I don't know how much he tells me to use that as a way to keep my mind off everything enjoy the books that I like and her brother will have a few extra cards for me as we go on our journey to find a new home her brother Noel walks in with his military cropped hair looking as gorgeous as ever and wear off we must've driven and quiet for about an hour while I programmed my Kindle and found that his phone had Wi-Fi so I hope it to his hotspot and was able to download a few bucks for the journey and then turn quinoa and ask can I ask you something he shoots a smile my way before looking back at the road anything he says why did you agree to help me when you barely know me he just looks at me for a split second before his eyes trip back to the road because no woman should ever have to live in such a nightmare for life and my sister has been worried sick about you seeing your injuries getting worse and worse and I just needed a fresh start out of this town I have an old military contact in a place called Caernorvon louisiana where his grandparents are from a work for lighthouse and the grandmother is a librarian but they both want to retire and move up here to spend time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren and he set it up where I'll do maintenance and landscape work for the lighthouse if you don't mind being the towns only librarian and will live in the small cottage behind the lighthouse in the Island that separates the two halves of the town The small island has a little grocery store that carries the basic needs but we can take the little ferry over to one side of the island or the other to get what we were in need for whatever but it's a small town there's only one restaurant no bars the one little store the lighthouse a few houses and a few other small shops no one will know who you really are and you will be safe because no one will be able to find you I just need to know do you still want to go by your name what do you want to change it Jojo is fine with me I say the only two people that have ever called me that are Nora and you so if we leave it at Jojo I should be okay he smiles good now the tough question am I your boyfriend or your brother I look at him I don't think you could pass for my brother he smiles while I know that you don't know me that well and after what you've been through I don't expect you to trust me 100% yet I just know you were safe with me and I will not let anything hurt you for all appearances purposes I will be your boyfriend until you get settled and decide what you want to do either way I will always be your friend and I will always stay near to make sure you and the baby are safe I look at him with tears in my eyes after his speech and smile thank you Noah I can't tell you how much this means to me I know you and your sister are putting yourselves in a lot of danger because my psycho ex I don't know what he's capable of and I know he will go back shit crazy as soon as he finds out I'm gone but I don't have a choice if it was just me I would stay but I have this baby I say sees me relax some as he squeezes my hand again and we drive and a peaceful and comfortable silence for a little while before he breaks it by saying so I guess we should get to know each other since will be staying together for a while he says I agree so what do you want to know about me I asked kind of nervously well first things first how old are you he asked I'm 19 I say how did you end up with your ex yes on my 18th birthday I was kicked out of foster care I have been in foster care since I was two and was waitressing the night shift when Marco and some of his friends came in after call it was still in the firefighter uniforms and he started flirting with me and I stupidly went home with him after he came in for about a month as a regular every shift I had I was sleeping in the shelter and he told me that I could come stay with him and he would take care of me and that I was too beautiful to stay in a shelter I foolishly believed them moved in with him and things were fine for the first few months but after we were together for about four or five months that's when he started drinking that's when the beating started he had always been controlling and possessive I never thought anything of it because I had never been in a relationship before I never been with a man before he started becoming more and more aggressive and as time went on it was like I was living in a prison my whole life became like a nightmare seen after I moved in with him he didn't want me waitressing anymore he said there was too many guys in there and will try to take me home and he was worried that I would go home with them as easily as I went home with him so he told me to find another job that's when I met your sister and she gave me a job we quickly became friends and one day I came in with a busted cheek bruised up pretty bad and she wanted to know what happen after gentle persuasion I finally confided in her the nightmarish home life I had and how I wasn't allowed to die my hair cut it how I wasn't allowed to wear make up and if anyone ever found out the truth about Marco but I would be 6 feet under he had to keep his reputation of being the perfect hero fireman but no one knew what A true monster he was inside except me she begged me to leave him told me I can come stay with her but I knew I wouldn't be safe as long as I stayed in that town but I didn't have money and I didn't have a way out that's when he started coming around the bookstore and I mentioned your sister that you were the nicest guy I've ever met he smiles and squeezes my hand once again reassuring me and says and you are the sweetest girl I've ever known and what you went through and survived proves how strong you are and I know you're taking a leap of faith and running with me but I know you're doing this for your baby and you will learn soon enough that you and your baby will be safe with me this time I squeeze his hand and he smiles and looks over at me after driving for about an hour we stop at a drive-through and grab a quick bite to eat and for the first time in over a year I actually get a strawberry milkshake which is always been my favorite but living with Marco I was never allowed to have six treats he said they make me fat but when no was saw the way I was looking at the shakes on the menu he asked what kind what I like he got a chocolate and I got in A strawberry and it is delicious after we eat in the truck while we're still driving I feel tired more tired than I have in a long time I don't feel like I'll be on edge I have to sleep with one eye open wondering what's going to happen next Noah see me yawning and he smiles it's okay if you want to take a nap it really doesn't bother me you're going to need all the rest you can get to help take care of that little one growing inside of you I look over at him and smile I haven't felt this relaxed and longer than I can remember he smiled back and says well baby take a nap I'll do the driving I wake you when we get a hotel probably somewhere in Georgia okay I reach for my purse to see how much cash I have no in Marco never let me leave the house with more than $10 and he shakes his head after grabbing my hand now sweetie I have this covered you don't worry about anything right now you just take care of yourself and that baby I smile and lean my head on the window as he pulls towards my arm and tells me to lean up against him that he doesn't want my head bopping on the window for a long journey to the middle of the seat and lean up against him rested my head on his shoulder as he wraps his arms around mine and for once in my life I instantly feel safe I don't know for how long I slept but he gently shake me to wake me up JoJo Babe we are here I open my eyes and look around and see the sun is starting to rise where are we on ask I drove through the night and we are here in Canarvan I decided not to stop at a hotel as I didn't want to give your ex a chance to catch up with us we just crossed the little ferry and we're about to go to our new home you must be exhausted you should've woken me I could've drove some of the way or trying to at least no sweetie you needed the rest I can see how much pain you were in and I knew getting you as far away from him as possible was more important than sleeping I'll catch a few hours of sleep once we get inside I lean up and kissed him on the cheek taking him by surprise as well is surprising myself by the action I've never been so forward with a man before but for some reason I feel drawn to him I feel safe and I feel cherished and treasured and protected things I've never felt before he actually makes me feel like I'm beautiful and I'm never Ever have i felt that in my life and i have to admit it is very nice after we get off the small ferry boat we pull up to a small cottage behind the lighthouse in the middle of the island when no it turns to me and says welcome to our new home baby you're not the truck even liens his hand and to help me out as I'm sitting in the middle of the seat after helping me out on around my waist and walked me into the cottage in the mailbox it's the keys and he unlocks the door and picks me up and carries me through making me giggle after sitting me down he ask well what do you think of our new home

Music is pumping the adrenaline is rushing through my veins I've been training for this for the last six weeks and they're about to call my name to step up on that stage I cannot wait Finally i hear my coach walk up beside me well Langston are you ready to do this i look over to her i was born ready i say well your up she says leading me to the stage curtain as i walk out to the middle of the dark stage and take my pose i hear my music start i count out 5,6,7,8 and the i move in time with the rhythm moving my body across the stage this high i get from dancing is what i live for when i end my dance with a perfect ring leap and a soft landing to the floor i know i nailed it i have the biggest smile as i wave to the judges and fans in the stands i can never get enough of this feeling i dont think i can live without it i exit the stage and my coach and team mates are all there with hugs to give langston you nailed it i have never seen you do a more perfect routine and you always do perfect routines my coach Jenna says while we wait for my score that when we here 10,10,10,10,10 i got a perfect fucking score i think to my self the rest of the compaction is a breeze and in the end of it i won the national championship title next stop for me is the world championship after changing into black yoga pants and a pink snug t-shirt I grab my gym bag and walk out to meet up with greyson my older brothers best friend who came tonight to video The performance so we can send it to my brother while he is on the plane meant overseas truth be told I have had a crush on Grayson for a few years now but I know nothing will ever come of it because he is raves best friend and I'm raves little sister when I walk out with my gym bag on my shoulder he picks me up and spend me around saying damn baby girl you nailed it out there you are amazing I don't know how you do half the shit you do on that stage but you blew my mind away tonight your brothers going to die when he sees this I just smile and give him a kiss on the cheek thanks for coming to record it for rain I know he wanted to be here but he couldn't he smiles yeah well he'll enjoy the video and I got you being announced as in the national champion and you getting your awards on video too so he'll get it all gray you rock I say cutting him off he smiles at me again well are you hungry I think I should take the champion out to eat he says with a smile sounds like a plan to me i'm starving I reply he takes my gym bag from me and puts his arm around my shoulder and we walk out of the stadium into his truck where we finally decide we're going to go eat at this Chinese restaurant that we both enjoy I order my usual sweet-and-sour chicken shrimp fried rice and egg roll and egg drop soup and he surprises me about ordering the same and tortures me back order and crab raccoons knowing I'm not supposed to be eating all this but it's a celebration so I'm going to let myself have one or two we have a fun time at dinner laughing and joking and he drops me off at home which I am thankful for because lately it's been getting harder to see at night maybe my contacts need to be changed I think I should go see the eye doctor but right now I am too excited about just went to national champion and I have only six weeks until the world champion comes around as I start to unload my gym bag to wash my costumes I find a card inside of it so I take it out to read it and it says Langston you were beautiful as usual with such grace and talent watching you is always a joyful experience your secret admirer congratulations on the big win this does not take me by surprise as it should because I've been getting notes like this for the last few months at the competitions and at practices and doing regular performances so I just put it in the box with the rest of them thinking it's just the fan that's too shy to say hi and put it under my bed thinking nothing else on it I take a hot shower and get on the computer to Skype my brother hey little sis I saw that video you really kicked ass out there I really wish I could've been there to see it I'm so proud of you he says you were there with me I say holding up the cross necklace he gave me before his deployment I kept it on the whole time I thought your strength and that's how I push through that through the nerves and I did it I'm one I say with a big smile making his face light up well I'm glad Grayson was there to watch over you too because some of those costume says I have to say you might be 22 but some of those costumes I don't know I just start giggling you know I don't get to pick out the costumes I get a say in the end but I only have several choices to pick from he laughs I know sis but I'm glad that Grayson is there anyway yes so I'm my I say with a smile he says what's that about I look at the computer kind of dumbfounded well he took me to my favorite Chinese food restaurant afterwards and bought me dinner so I'm very glad because I was very hungry and I have no food I have to go grocery shopping he chuckles yeah you and that dancer diet you barely eat anything I don't know how you manage to do all those moves you do but you rocked it everybody out here saw that video and all the guys were going crazy I am so proud of you thank you so much for you but I know you can't be on long so why don't you email me or Skype me later when you have time I see your Seo walking up behind you okay baby girl I love you and take care of yourself and if you ever need anything you holler Grayson is there a lookout for you till I get home I will big bro when you stay safe I love you too and we disconnect I am so drained now that the adrenaline has ran off that I am going to curl up in bed and go to sleep

What the hell do you mean I have to give up dance I say look in the eye doctor in the eye I'm sorry Langston but you have a rapidly progressing form of glaucoma it's hard to stabilize it and you're putting yourself in a lot of danger if you continue to dance but I just won the world championship I cannot stop dancing that's my life what am I supposed to do with my life if I can't do what I love can't you give me some kind a drop or something to make it stop I say fighting back tears no I'm sorry Langston there's nothing we can do will give you drops to help stabilize it and you're going to have to make a few changes in your life in order to keep the vision you have from progressively getting worse as it will but we can stabilize it and try to slow that down some you are very young to be getting this form of glaucoma only 22 years old but for some reason that we cannot explain you have it and now is the time that we make the changes to protect what site you do have left just two weeks ago I won the world championship for dancing now I'm supposed to go on tour and perform and you're telling me I can't do that what in my supposed to do I don't have any other interest in life except my dance what am I going to do please tell me how can I live without doing what I love Dr. Revette pats my alarm I know this is a big shock to you and I know that this is going to be a very hard change for you to make in your life but I know you will find something new to do and you will have a happy life you just have to do what we tell you to help save the vision you have at this point I don't know what to do I'm NOM I think the doctor take the prescription for the Timilo all eyedrops that are supposed to help with the glaucoma and I walk out Grayson is waiting there for me know and I would have to get my eyes dilated I asked him to drive me but never in my life that I expect to hear that I am 22 years old and I am going blind and I have to give up my entire world as soon as I walked back into the waiting room he jumps up hey what's wrong what they say I just look at him and say it's over my life is over he looks puzzled as he ask what do you mean your life is over and I mean I can't dance anymore I'm for bid it they said I have some rapidly progressing form of glaucoma that's hard to stabilize and the more I dance the more danger I'm putting myself in cause a retina detachment so I can no longer dance Grayson I don't know what I'm gonna do with my life my life has revolved around dance for as long as I can remember I don't know anything else I don't know any other way of life what am I going to do I finally break down and start crying as he wraps his arms around me and kiss is the top of my head it's okay baby girl will figure something out you will be fine I promise everything Will be okay now let's go get you a prescription filled and get you home out of the lights because I know your eyes are dilated and I'll get us some takeout or something for dinner I'll Grayson you don't have to do all that I say I don't worry about it I'm not going to leave you alone while you're this upset so don't even try to get rid of me it's not gonna happen I look up at him and smile you really are too sweet to me you know that he just chuckles well it's easy to be sweet to someone as loving and caring as you not to mention it's beautiful making me flush again yeah well I doubt men will think I'm beautiful once I'm blind I say harshly and he stops in the middle of the parking lot and brushes the hair out of my face and says Langston I don't care if you're blind if you can see or he can only see a little you are beautiful and you always be beautiful to me any man that cannot see your beauty on the inside or the outside is a stupid ass doesn't deserve you don't you ever forget it I just Brett moms around him and hug him tight and tell him thank you as tears one down my face it's hips much and up and wipe the tears from my eyes and walked me back to his truck after going get my prescription and getting us some takeout we get back to my place and I'm holding my phone in my hand wondering how my going to explain this to my coach Grayson takes my hand and says make the call I'm right here I won't leave your side so I call up my coach and explain everything to her telling her why I can no longer be a part of the dead team and that it has to be effective immediately because I had to resign because of medical reasons I'm allowed to keep my title for the year but I give up all other responsibilities and they go in for the other woman who came in second she gets the title by default but I still hold the name which is the last title I will ever hold I break down after hanging up the phone on my coach and I just curl up in a ball on the sofa as Grayson wraps is on around my shoulders when his phone rings and he says oh hey bro I'm glad you called we really need to talk about links then I look up and he mounts to me that it's rave on the phone and I just shake my head he puts the phone on speaker and he says bro I don't know how to tell you this but Langston found out today that she has a rapidly progressing form of glaucoma and now she has to give up dancing she's extremely upset and doesn't think she can go on doesn't know what she would do with her life without having dance in it so I'm staying here with her until she calms down some and we figure out what she wants to do my brother comes through on the phone baby girl don't you dare give up you are not someone who has ever given up you may not be able to compete or dance the way you used to but maybe after you get this stabilize you can teach you can choreograph you can do something you don't have to give up dancing all the way you just have to give up your competing I look up and white mice oh rave I'm never thought of it that way but I would love to teach dance and choreograph but I don't know if they'll let me do it they said I have to give it up well let's first work on getting you in this glaucoma stabilized before we jump in so what's going to happen next just think of this as a vacation you can keep up with your stretches I know that will put you in danger you can stay on that crazy as diet you love so much all you can eat whatever the hell you want but you just take some time for yourself and with me and Grayson you will have the best life you possibly can have right bro he says and Grayson immediately replies I told her that no matter what she will always be beautiful but this is not something that will have to change she is just what she does he says thank you both I say you both mean the world to me and I don't know what I would do without either of you
Grayson spend the night on the couch as I just cried myself to sleep the next morning he had to go to work and I stayed inside and cleaned and cleaned and cleaned which is something I always do when I'm upset so the house is spotless it has not a thing out of place I decide to go to the grocery store to pick up a few things to Indulge in that I don't usually eat as I'm checking out I get an eerie feeling that someone is watching me I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up the entire time I've been in this grocery store so I quickly pay for my purchases and had to my car open but I'm just panicking for nothing but to my Horrified surprise I feel a hand wrap around my moth and a knife slice open my dress I freeze and panic for all of two seconds before the self-defense training my brother insisted I learned kick in after all he has been raising me since I was 14 years old I slammed my head back into the assailants knows given myself the perfect opportunity to spin around when I feel the knife's license in my hip I need him as hard as I can when he drops the night to grab his balls he still has a hand in my hair that was around my mouth and he pulled it down I punch awkward with the flat of my hand into his nose Busting it even more he lets go of my hair but grabs onto my arm so I spent around with a fan kick and hit him upside the head this causing him to lose his balance and his grip I am immediately run into my car and take off I drive around for I don't know how long before finally decided the only person I can turn to his Grayson I know I'm pretty beaten up because that asshole did get a few hits in on me but the main thing I'm worried about is the cut on my side I keep feeling blood pouring from my hip and I don't know how bad it really is so I finally go to Grayson's house holding my ripped dress together shaking and crying I walk up to his door and knock on it hoping he is home from work already he comes to the door fresh out of the shower and jeans and no T-shirt bear chested but his eyes go wide the second he sees me oh my God Laney what the hell happened to you I was attacked at the grocery store I say into yours he pulled me up against him and wraps his arms around me so tight that I feel so safe

1. When did you first start writing?
I have always love to write short stories but i didn't start working on my book until around april of this year
2. Did you always know you wanted to write?
Yes from as far back as i can remember i have wanted to be an author and as i got older that never changed so when the glaucoma hit and i had to make a 180 degree change in life the only two things i had to hold on to was my writing and reading thanks to my kindle reading for me at times but i knew i could turn the negative in to a positive by taking a chance and writing a book
3. Who are some of your biggest Influences? I would have to say my parents family and a few friends who have always believed in me and never let me give up on my self no matter how hard things got they kept and still keep me going

5. Whats in the works for you next ? and when will it be released? After the love found in Caernorvon is released i will be working on a sequel that will tell fourth other love stories still not sure on the title just yet and if all goes as planed it should be out fall 2015 as the love found in Caernorvon will be released in spring 2015

7. Is there anything in particular you do in preparation for writing? I fix a big pot of French vanilla coffee because I know once I start it's hard to stop and I need every drop of caffeine to help keep me awake :-) then I go curl up in the little knock I have in my home library and start writing
8. Do you have any advice for anyone struggling to become a writer? Right what's in your heart don't force it let it calm and in the end you will have the best story you could possibly right after your story is written read it out loud to yourself or to a friend that way you can hear it and go in and things change things take things out but be sure you are happy with the story before you release it after all it is your piece of art not anyone else's and if you are happy with it and it's the story you always wanted to tell and that's the story of the world should hear And if you message me on my facebook authors page or twitter i will try to help give you advice or tips i have learned threw my experience just keep in mind im new at this too
