Rosa really did
not get a normal childhood. Her parents began pushing her for prim and properness
very early in life. She even had to go to many dinner events just because they
forced it upon her. Her father really made her endure a horrible life with his
displeasure that she had been born a girl and not a boy. She meets Jonnie at a
dinner her family had given. At first, everything was ok, then he asks how old
she is, and oh boy can we say awkward?
This was a very
sweet story of growing up. Anything horrible a girl can find herself going
through well Rosa goes through it.
And Jonnie has
been harboring a little secret of his own. Oh boy what a roller coaster this
book is. The ending however is what blew this story to a 5 star for me it was
truly heartbreaking yet glorious as well.
I was gifted a
copy of this book for my honest review.
