Excerpt:
I flop down face first on the bed with a groan. “Please tell me it’s Sunday again.”
“Monday,” he says. “Damn.”
“Hoping for a Groundhog Day situation?”
I blow a stream of breath through my lips, “Yep,” and bury my head under a pillow. As much as I like working with Dom—my boss and longtime friend—I like weekends more.
Rob leads a trail of kisses up my spine, pausing at the nape of my neck. Combs my hair to one side, his tongue teasing, tasting my neck and shoulder.
“Mmm.” I clamp my eyes shut, calling sleep back, wanting it to curl me in its grasp and fog my brain again. I’d love to stay here a little while longer.
When his tongue travels back down my spine, lips imparting kisses vertebra by vertebra, I peek out from my pillow-burrow to watch him move lower and lower until his fingers smooth over the small of my back. Tendrils of warmth are slithering through me like liquid gold. My eyes drift closed, and just as I think I could go back to sleep—
Wisps of orange and pink peek through my eyelids, and I sit up with a start. No. “Wh—what time is it?” As I squint at my Mickey Mouse clock on my nightstand, the face smears in my vision.
Nibbling on my ear, Rob says, “Seven-thirty.”
“No!” Shit! I leap out of bed and just out of reach as he makes a grab for me. “I’m late—my meeting with Dom.” Just because my boss is one of my oldest friends doesn’t mean he likes to be kept waiting. My eyes scour the room for yesterday’s clothes. If my butt isn’t in his office in five minutes, I’m likely to get a verbal spanking.
“Stay. He won’t mind.” Arms coil around my waist and drag me back to bed.
“I doubt that.”
“I’ll make it worthwhile...” Fingers creep down my stomach, venturing past my belly button and sending pleasurable shivers down my spine.
“Hm. Tempting.” But since the store is closing down soon, this meeting probably means I’m being let go, and being late is just adding fuel to the fire. Who knows where Dom will send me next? I stoop down to kiss him before saying, “Rain check? Tonight?”
He reels me in for another kiss, holding me tight against him, and then releases me. “Go,” he groans and rolls over.
I catch his lips quirking into a smile as he does. “Tonight, yeah? Mine? Yours?” I locate my bra first before grabbing a fresh pair of underwear from my closet.
“Here. I’ll bring the handcuffs and paddle,” he teases.
I ball my shirt and pitch it at him.
It clocks his temple and he chuckles. “Blindfold and candle wax?”
“Shut up. And gimme my shirt.”
He peels back the blankets, strides over. Naked. A ripple of desire splashes through me. Maybe I do have a few minutes to spare…
His smile widens as he hands it to me. “Here you go.”
“That’s a dirty trick, mister.” I swivel away from him and tug the Runaways band tee on.
“Not all is fair in terms of pleasure, Bec.”
If I don’t go now, I’m not going to leave. Twenty seconds, Bec. Find some pants. Put on some damn shoes. Brush your hair and go!
A hand skims over my hip.
Fifteen seconds!
A thumb hooks into my panties.
Twelve.
Lips and teeth devour my ear lobe.
Oh, screw it.
